Pin a folder to the taskbar in Windows 7

This trick allows you to add a shortcut to a folder in the taskbar of Windows 7. Indeed , it is normally not possible to pin shortcuts to files or folders in the Windows taskbar , only the applications have this opportunity.

The trick is therefore to create a shortcut to the file explorer that will directly open the folder of our choice . Here are the steps to follow to create and add a shortcut to a folder in the taskbar:

  1. On the desktop, right click and choose New then Shortcut.
  2. Right click > New > Shortcut - Click on image to enlarge
  3. In the dialog box from opening , click on the button Travel to select the folder of your choice and confirm by clicking OK.
  4. Choose the folder - Click on image to enlarge
  5. In the window remaining on screen, add C : \ Windows \ explorer.exe before the path and then validate.

  7. Your shortcut is now on the desktop. Simply move it to the taskbar using the mouse.
  8. Move the shortcut in the taskbar
  9. The shortcut is placed in the taskbar
  10. Your shortcut is now pinned in the Windows taskbar . A simple click will open the window directly to the content of this directory.
    Note that if in future you want to delete this shortcut , it will suffice to make a click on it then needs to select "Remove the program from the taskbar".
