How to Share Internet from PC to Xbox 360

A few weeks ago I had the opportunity to buy the console Xbox 360 Premium, same as above is still necessary firmware and connect to Xbox Live to update the new firmware . My particular problem is that Internet connection I have it on my way home Wi-Fi through my neighbors ( blessed Aircrack-ng) , and Wireless Network Adapter Xbox 360 is too expensive ( over $ 100 USD).

Some research on the web I found the relatively simple way Internet connection sharing from my laptop to Xbox 360Using only an Ethernet cable and changing settings a minimum the wireless connection.

The steps for Internet move from PC to Xbox 360 are ( eye tested on Windows XP):

  1. Go to Start Menu -> Control Panel . Once inside, select "Network Connections“.
  2. We look for the wireless network to which we are connected , usually called "Wireless Network Connections" We right click on its icon and select the option "Properties“.
  3. In the window that appears we go to the tab Advanced Options" Once there, mark the box that says "Allow other network users to connect through the Internet connection of this equipment. Click on "Accept"To apply the new configuration ( WiFi is switched off and one second will connect again automatically).
  4. Now we just need to connect the Xbox 360 with the PC or laptop already configured for this purpose we use a network cable (I suggest using the same which includes the console), as shown in the picture that accompanies this post .
  5. If all goes well , our Xbox 360 will already have Internet access can connect to Xbox Live and downloading content. Otherwise , we go back to "Network Connections" We right click on the wired network connection (usually named " Local Area Connection ) and select the option "Repair“.

With these simple steps is how you can use a laptop as Wi-Fi adapter for Xbox 360, So you can connect to Xbox Live and enjoy the benefits. By the way, if there is any problem with the connection between the console and the PC , we can build using a switch ( Ethernet port hub ) or by placing a manual IP to the wired network connection .

Indeed, This can also be achieved with other operating systems as Mac OS X and Windows Vista , as well as any distribution of GNU / Linux, is basically to share Internet access via Wi-Fi with other active network connections on the PC. Nothing fancy .
