On more than one occasion and has happened to me I want to disable some security storage device and the icon did not appear in the notification tray. One way to reach this box Safely Remove Hardware is the next trick, using rundll32.exe and shell32.dll straightforward.
First create a shortcut:
- 1) Right-click on any area of the desktop
2) Let's "New" and then "Shortcut"
Now we will establish what is the shortcut:
- 1) The location of the item type:
RunDll32.exe shell32.dll, Control_RunDLL hotplug.dll
2) We click on "Next" and enter any name
3) Press the button "Finish" and ready
This trick works well on Windows XP, and is intended for all those who have somehow lost the icon in the notification tray, yea, may seem a bit crook, but many will serve them extremely useful, I'm sure .
