Samsung Announces Dual - Core Mobile Processor

Samsung announced the launch of a new dual-core tablet mobile PCs, netbook and smartphones that can support the playback and recording videos in high definition (1080p).

During the launch the engineers indicated that the new Orion processor cores containing a pair of 1GHz ARM Cortex A9, and their functions to have an idea of what to expect in the mobile market by 2011.

Apparently, in addition to handling HD video and 30 frames per second, a computer with this processor can be equipped with two screens, while controlling third external display like a TV or monitor via the HDMI port.

Samsung also highlighted the performance graph of Orion, as it is capable of a 3D graphics performance with five times higher than the previous generation of processors from Samsung, which is used currently in the Galaxy and Galaxy S Tab.

Before rushing out to buy the first copies, we must remember that Orion will be available for some exclusive clients in the last quarter of the year and massively in the first half of 2011.

While Samsung seems to have a winner with Orion, we must remember that it is the only company working on dual-core mobile processors, as Qualcomm and Texas Instruments also announced similar projects.
