If you have more than 2 GB of memory, you can limit the exchange of data with the hard drive and save time by keeping the core of Windows 7 in the RAM on your computer. Note this is also valid for Windows Vista.
- Click the Start button, type Regedit in the search field and confirm with Enter.
- In the registry editor that opens, scroll down the HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE, SYSTEM, CurrentControlSet, Control, Session Manager, Memory Management.
- Double click the value DisablePagingExecutive.
- Set its value to 1 and click OK.
- Close the Registry Editor and restart your computer to finally implement the change.
