Keep the core memory - Windows 7

If you have more than 2 GB of memory, you can limit the exchange of data with the hard drive and save time by keeping the core of Windows 7 in the RAM on your computer. Note this is also valid for Windows Vista.

  1. Click the Start button, type Regedit in the search field and confirm with Enter.
  2. In the registry editor that opens, scroll down the HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE, SYSTEM, CurrentControlSet, Control, Session Manager, Memory Management.
  3. Double click the value DisablePagingExecutive.
  4. Set its value to 1 and click OK.
  5. Close the Registry Editor and restart your computer to finally implement the change.
