Not exactly new as the version without CERO rating has been around for quite some time but this is final box art for Square Enix’s Kingdom Hearts: Birth by Sleep (click for ultra large version). Note that the PlayStation Network logo (like the one on Phantasy Star Portable 2’s box art) is no where to be seen, which means we can’t save on shipping and download it off the Japanese PSN. Really unfortunate and something that result in the really poor sales of PSP go. Those who can read Japanese (or if you don’t mind playing the game with guides) can check out Play-Asia ($59.90) or YesAsia ($67.99) for pre-orders. The release date again is January 9th in Japan. source:here

Half-Minute Hero
There’s a lot to make fun of when it comes to RPGs. Many developers don’t seem to care that they’ve been recycling the same stories over and over again for years, and neither do a lot of fans. Instead, there’s this strange movement where retro styling isn’t just nostalgic, but correct, leading many developers to rely on overused gameplay mechanics from 1993 instead of taking advantage of 20+ years of gaming lessons. Needless to say, the genre is ripe for lampooning. The trouble is developers don’t always have the best sense of humor about themselves, and games grounded in parody usually end up being worse than the source material. Luckily, this isn’t the case with Half-Minute Hero, which bursts onto the scene, tongue placed firmly in cheek, ready to point a finger at RPG clichés while managing to blindside gamers with some of the most unique, whimsical RPG gameplay in years.
Half-Minute Hero takes the age-old question of, “Why doesn’t this villain just kill me already instead rambling on and giving me time to prepare for battle?” and turns it on its head. There are no long-winded speeches, just quick, humorous bursts where enemies explain why they’re going to destroy the world. Someone has taught dozens of different evil beings a spell that can destroy the world; it takes half a minute to cast, and they have no intent on pausing to entertain intruders or guests. This means, once each level starts, the countdown is on, and the Hero is only seconds away from total annihilation. Luckily, he’s not alone: the incredibly greedy Goddess of Time offers the ability to turn back the clocks, extending the time the Hero has to defeat the boss. It’s not without its price, though, and it becomes more and more expensive as it’s abused, meaning even some of the harder levels only last a minute or two.
It’s not enough to just get to the boss in each level, either. It’s an RPG, which means leveling up, defeating monsters, buying items, and completing quests. Half-Minute still has all of this; it’s just put on a deadline. The only time that the countdown stops is when the Hero is in a town, but every other moment is spent keeping one eye on the action and one on the depleting timer. Battles consist of both fighters running at each other and attacking, ceasing once one has fallen. The only combat options for the player are holding down a button to run (which drains health), fleeing, and using a healing item. Beyond that, combat is completely automated. It also levels the Hero very quickly, especially when compared to the average JRPG. Grinding is still important, but it’s done faster, and pacing in the overworld will usually be enough to fill the pockets and quadruple the level of the Hero. Eventually, the game will let the Hero know that he’s stronger than the boss, and he can work his way to the castle for the fight. That is, if he’s able to get there. Completing quests found in towns is important to progressing, and there are even side missions that can help make things go easier.
Think of it this way: in any given RPG, there’s likely a segment where the hero travels to a town and hears legends about a mythical weapon that can defeat a certain enemy with ease. Often, this hidden object’s location is only known by one character, and that person will sometimes ask the hero to complete a quest before giving away the secret. After fighting through a dungeon and doing what was asked, the hero returns, and is given the location of the object, which is usually in another cave somewhere else. That cave is invaded, the item is found, and the hero needs to defeat the area’s boss using the weapon. Half-Minute Hero has all of that, and it does it in under a minute. There’s there’s nothing to get too excited about in the overarching story, but it’s a parody, so it gets away with being an assortment of short stories that slowly grow into something more interesting. More than anything, it’s a proof of concept, showing that the RPG formula can, indeed, be boiled down to seconds on the hour.
It’s not at all uncommon to defeat any given Dark Lord with only fractions of a second left, letting out an exasperated gasp and slumping down, staring at the milliseconds, and wondering what could have been done to cut down on the time. After it’s over, different titles are bestowed on the Hero depending on his actions, which carry over to later levels, as NPCs that were helped throughout the game will return to aid the Hero at vital moments. While not as much of a thrill as it might be in a 80+ hour story, it’s still exciting to see the archer you saved three missions ago return to help defeat a boss. It doesn’t release the same amount of endorphins that it might in Chrono Trigger or Final Fantasy, but it releases them nevertheless. You’ll be shocked at how much you care about some of the characters that are only on screen for two minutes.
It is a pleasure, and an experience that absolutely all gamers should indulge themselves in. Playing through the story doesn’t take far too long, but should supply more than enough entertainment to justify picking the it up. And that’s just Hero 30, one of four game modes in Half-Minute Hero. Oh, I forgot to mention that, didn’t I?
Half-Minute Hero is cut into four parts: Hero 30, Evil Lord 30, Princess 30, and Knight 30. The first three are unlocked right away, with the fourth being available after they are all completed. Whereas Hero 30 is an RPG shrunk down to 30 seconds, the others each mirror other genres, laughing while they make fun of real-time strategies, shoot-em-ups, and protection quests. Knight 30 is obviously the odd man out here, and while none of the modes hold a candle to Hero 30, it is likely the least entertaining, which explains why it’s locked away underneath the other modes. It features a knight trying to protect a mage, who needs thirty seconds to cast a spell. In that way, it’s an interesting change of pace, but it’s hardly worth spending time on over Hero 30.
Evil Lord 30 has players controlling one of the villains met during Hero 30. It’s a spin-off story of the first, and has the Dark Lord destroying other baddies by creating minions that follow basic attack commands. It’s more Overlord than it is Red Alert, and is only really entertaining if you’re already invested in the plot, which isn’t likely. The combat is essentially rock-paper-scissors, with different unit types being extremely effective against some but very weak against others. It does an all right job at boiling the RTS down, but feels like it could have done much better.
Princess 30, on the other hand, is also an extremely enjoyable experience. It features a princess, who is asked to leave her castle to collect different items to save her father, who has fallen ill. As the game goes on, more reasons to leave the gates are given, but it all falls under the same guidelines: the princess has to leave and return in under 30 seconds. Luckily, she’s being carried by a few dozen soldiers and wields a crossbow, making it play out like a shoot-em-up mixed with Wario Ware. While obviously the gem in the non-Hero 30 modes, it still feels like it and the other additions would have been more interesting if interspersed in some way throughout Hero 30, since it’s obviously the star of the package.
Half-Minute Hero is, simply put, brilliant. For every stiff rib to the elbows it has its share of homage, and while it spends most of its time laughing at RPG clichés, it’s obvious that the developers absolutely love the genre. It is, without a doubt, one of the most entertaining games on the PSP, and can go toe-to-toe with almost any other RPG released this generation when it comes to delivering a unique experience. It’s for fans of the genre, haters of the genre, and anyone who has ever wondered why RPG characters can simply walk into strangers’ homes and steal things off of their bookshelves.more:here

HYBRID: Eternal Whisper (iPhone)

Yeah I know, totally random, but since there is nothing socking about KH: BBS yet, and since I finally got my iPhone 3G S it's time to expand to iPhone games too.
Sooo not having enough free time lately, yesterday night I accidentally crashed onto this game on YouTube, well from the trailer and the story I am pretty sure it's gonna be a hit.
So now that the action-RPG Zenonia was (and remains) a smash hit for Korean mobile maker Gamevil. Considering its success, you can hardly blame Gamevil for going back to its catalog for its next iPhone game. Hybrid: Eternal Whisper is another action-RPG adventure, but instead of a classic top-down 16-bit RPG vibe, Hybrid is instead a side-scrolling RPG-fighter that focuses heavily on style. Gamevil's USA president Kyu Lee likened the emphasis on cool moves to the Capcom series Devil May Cry. And after watching him perform some massive attacks on huge boss monsters by swiping his finger around the screen, I could see exactly why he draws the comparison. Even in its early stage, Hybrid just looked... cool. There are 150 stages in Hybrid. That's a lot of content. You start out as a lowly warrior, but over time you gain skills to use in battle, much like the hero of Zenonia. Each stage is a fighting scene with multiple enemies. You can track incoming monsters via a minimap along the top of the screen. Not long into the game, though, you start encounter giant bosses that require leveled-up skills to bring down. Here is the trailer:
It's going to be available on the App Store on September 1st

Travian Offensive Roman Guide
Choosing romans on travian at the start can be a risky move due to not being able to raid as fast as teutons and not having as good defense as a good travian gaul player. This guide below is intended to be used by all travian players but ideally should be used by an active player. This guide can be used on any travian server, but its best of playing it on a modern server t3.5.
Start out by following the travian quest's until you hit the economy or military route. Here it depends on whether or not you use gold, if you do not buy gold then choose the military route and complete all the quest's except for the last one. Choosing this route you should end up with around 10 legionaires. Don't worry about wheat at this stage as once you are raiding you can raid wheat to feed your hungry troops!
If you buy and use gold choose the economic route and build the marketplace then proceed and build a rally point and barracks using the ncp merchant at the marketplace. Then being to build legionaires and hopefully you will have at least 13 before your beginners protection runs out as stated above do not worry about wheat.
Protection Period Ended
As soon as beginners protection has ended start raiding people in your 7x7 with a population of only 9 or below, be vary careful not to attack anyone with troops and try not to loose any of your troops as they are so costly. Once you have started raiding people in your local travian 7x7, start hitting people outside of your 7x7 and split your troops up into groups of 5, i must not at this stage try not to attack gauls, due to them having traps which are cheap to build. Now build a cranny and keep an eye on how much resources you have in and build a cranny accordingly, should be around a level 5 or 6. One little tip make sure your troops are out all the time so if you get attacked you dont loose any. Over night send them to a low population village far away that takes around 5 hours to get there and 5 hours back allowing you a good 10 hours rest! By the first day raiding aim to have around 35 legionaire on travian and just try and keep the wheat positive. Now the start of the second day, wake up bright and early and keep on raiding with the same tactic. Now spend half of your raiding resources of your troops and spend half on resources tiles, remembering to keep wheat at positive. Keep this strategy till you hit around 120 legionaires.
Equites Imperatoris
Now start to look to research equites imperatoris, save around 70 % of your resources to prepare to research them so upgrade all the necessary buildings including warehouse, granary and academy. Do not build anymore legionaires now but keep raiding and put the saved resources away to research Equites Imperatoris. Once you have done so build around 10 and when an incoming attack is on its way, counter attack them with your horse's and raid him for everything they have got ! Note whilst counter raiding with your Equites Imperatoris still raid the normal suspects with your other foot troops.
Developing
Now you should look to build a heroes mansion to train a hero equites imperatoris when you are hitting your teuton friends this should help to soften the blow if they have troops in base when you raid. Now with all of your troops raid with your 100 foot troops and spend on building development and resources tiles. And when you raid with your 25 or so horse's whatever they bring back spend on more horse's remembering to keep in positive wheat. Now comes the expansion, get up to around 100 horse's then look to join a good alliance in your area, (ideally one from a previous travian server) then look at getting a residence level 10 and expanding to your 2nd village. I would look to move fairly local due to you can then send resources across faster and develope the 2nd village in the same way. By now you should be on your way to dominating your local zone !!
Travian Defensive Roman Guide
Starting Off
The main aim in a defensive travian roman village is to have a really high production rate, so naturally once you have started complete all the tasks and choose the economic route. Before you do anything else after the quest's look to upgrade your warehouse, granary and resources tiles but not before your cranny. Almost immediately upgrade your cranny to hide 1000 resources (level 10) to ensure that no one raids any resources from you. This will try and detract attention from yourself and also encourage them not to come back if they are getting no resources from you. You want to have clay producing the most by 1 level then wood then iron then wheat being half of your Clay production so somewhere around 10:12:8:6, wood, clay, iron, wheat and try to keep this ratio. Also look to trade in the marketplace if you are running low on a particular resource for some reason.
Progressing
Now once all of your resources tiles have hit level 3(yes this dose mean breaking the ratio rule!) , you will look at developing your buildings. Build your main building to level 3 and a rally point with a barracks, Note if you are offline for long periods of time (up to 9 hours) think about upgrading your warehouse as well. Now look at building around 8 legionaires ans star raiding inactive players in your 7x7. It takes around 15 full raid to get your resources back from a legionaire so try not to loose any at the start as this is what can help you developer a lot faster on travian online game. Now the key is too avoid incoming attacks and here's a tip at night time send your troops out on a long attack so they don't get killed of in the early hours of the morning. Once you have a reasonable sized raiding force (around 15 troops) look at splitting them up into groups of five, and spend 80% of raiding resources on developing barracks and marketplace and spending the reaming 20% on more troops. Now try to aim at developing resources tiles keeping the given ration before and look at growing towards level 6 tiles. Remember to upgrade your warehouse, granary and cranny as you grow.
1 Month In
Around a month should have flown by on travian now and you should be somewhere around level 6 resources fields on everything. Now as teutons start growing a lot in size, look at building up your barracks level and academy and look at researching and building a few defensive troops such as travians own praetorian. Look at building around a solid 30 defensive troops and also try to research scouts and build a few along the way only about 5. Now whilst continually raiding with your ever expanding army, look at taking all of your resources tiles to around level 10's. Once you start getting level 10 tiles, look at getting a brick works and sawmill and upgrade each to level 4 to really help boost your resource production on travian. After you have done this give your defense a boost with around 30 Equites caesaris, remembering to keep your wheat around half of your clay build a flower mill if it helps.
Expansion
Now as a solid local player, you should look at expanding to another local village build a residence up to level 10, upgrade the respected buildings and build 3 settlers and the next thing you know you have 2 villages look at following this guide again for your 2nd village except in gore the raiding parts due to inactive players wont be around much longer !
